Irish Water is set to go ahead with a new waste water treatment plant in Youghal, despite objections by a mussel farm company

The company won it's case against Woodstown Bay Shellfish Ltd at Cork Circuit Court
Judge David Riordan said he was satisfied the requirements of the Environmental and Habitat Directive had been met.
According to today's Evening Echo, thenew waste water treatment plant is part of the Youghal Main Drainage Scheme to carry treated waste water nortwest of Ferry Point into the sea.
Woodstown Bay Shellfish Ltd said their business would be destroyed by the current proposal to construct and lay the outfall sewer from Greens Quay out towards Ferry Point.
However the judge did not agree and issues related to legal costs will be before Cork Circuit Court on July 20th.
