Irish Water Safety Release Drowning Statistics
Men accounted for three quarters of the people who lost their lives by drowning in 2016.
In total 123 people drowned, 94 men and 29 women.
The figures have been released by Irish Water safety ahead of the August Bank Holiday weekend.
