ISPCA call for people who abuse or abandon pets to be banned from owning animals

The call comes after three dogs, one of whom was days away from death, had to be rescued in Youghal
The ISPCA says they would like to see people who abuse or abandon pets to be banned from owning animals in the future and hit with a hefty fine.
The comments come after one of their inspectors had to rescue three dogs, one of whom was days away from death, after they were abandoned at a house
in Youghal.
A Yorkshire terrier was found dehydrated and in a state of collapse while the two Chihuahuas were found severely emaciated and one of them was pregnant.
The three dogs were seized and transferred for immediate veterinary attention while an investigation has been launched.
ISPCA Inspector Lisa O’Donovan told RedFM News what the owners face if they manage to track them down.
