It's Feared Up To 100 East Cork Students Could Be Left Without A Secondary School Place For The Next Academic Year

The issue has been formally raised at the Dail
Cork East TD David Stanton told RedFM News it's a problem that affects schools and pupils across East Cork each year, but that the number of students potentially missing out is getting higher and higher.
He added that parents double booking their child at multiple secondary schools and a need for more classroom places Leeside are the main causes for the disparity in school places, and that this is something that the Government and the Department of Education need to address.
David Stanton has raised the issue in the Dail, saying that a centralised school system for East Cork could be a viable solution to ensure each student gets a guaranteed place well ahead of time.
He told RedFM News that artificial waiting lists are a huge part of the problem:
