"It's Getting Worse And It's Getting Closer To Our Doors"

That's how a Cork man whose neighbour was doused in petrol and set alight this week has described the scale of violence sweeping Cork in recent months.
23-year-old Keith Greaney is being treated for life changing injuries in Cork University Hospital after he was attacked by three men armed with a machete and iron bars at his home in the Dunard estate in Mayfield in the early hours of Monday morning.
It follows two murders in the city in the last month which have left locals reeling.
Investigations are continuing after the dismembered body of 64-year-old Frankie Dunne was discovered in the grounds of a derelict house on the Boreenmanna Road days after Christmas, while a community is still coming to terms with the death of 20-year-old Cameron Blair who was fatally stabbed at a house party on the Bandon Rd last week.
Speaking to RedFM News this man says Monday night's attack on his neighbour highlights the scale of violence in Cork, and setting someone on fire is an act of depravity:
