Jazz Weekend Kicks Off In Style This Afternoon

The Guinness Cork Jazz festival is celebrating it's 40th birthday in style this long weekend.

Up to 40,000 people from across Ireland and abroad are expected to descend on Cork this weekend to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the jazz.. 

Dave Mac's Drive on Cork's RedFM is live from 4pm at the Metropole Hotel while weekend highlights include a free open-air concert taking place beginning at 6pm this evening at Emmet Place.

The concert kicks off with Jazz bands followed leater by  Skibbereen’s soulful Brian Deady and multi-platinum singer-songwriter Paddy Casey. 

The Jazz Parade on Saturday, starting on Washington Street at 1pm, will be bigger than ever before with over 350 musicians and vibrant street performers.
