Joanne O'Riordan To Lead Disability Groups Protest Outside Dáil Today

Those living with disabilities are tired of waiting for the Irish State to afford them equal rights.
That's according to Cork woman and Disability rights activist Joanne O'Riordan, who is leading 100 disability groups in protest outside the Dail this morning.
The Irish Wheelchair Association, Down Syndrome Ireland and Rehab are among some of the groups protesting at the Government's failure to ratify the United Nations Convention on the rights of the person.
Despite pledging to do so over 10 years ago, Ireland is the only EU member state yet to ratify the treaty which will give over 600,000 people with disabilities the same rights as any other citizen in the state.
Speaking to RedFM News Joanne is calling on people to support the campaign
