Job Losses Could Hit Cork Firm GlobeTech

Some employees may lose their jobs after a "client project" finished early.
A Cork IT firm with links to Apple says some employees may lose their jobs after a "client project" finished early.
GlobeTech, which was founded in Cork in 1997 and employs around 700 staff globally, has not confirmed the number of staff affected by the lay-offs or the project they were involved with, but it's understood to be related to grading recordings from Apple's voice assistant Siri.
The move follows the revelation that contractors grading the assistant's ability to understand commands heard audio of confidential medical information and drug deals.
Apple has since suspended the grading operations.
