Jobs Boost for Cork
200 construction jobs are to be created in Cork. Development of a major research centre in Ringaskiddy will begin in December. The Evening Echo is reporting that UCC's 14 million euro Beaufort Research Lab will be launched on Thursday. It will be the world's largest marine renewable energy research centre and will be located at the centre of Irish Maritime and Energy Resource Cluster in Ringaskiddy. Building work is due to get underway in December creating 200 new construction jobs. Up to 135 researchers will be employed when the centre is fully operational in 2016. It will play a central role in Ireland's plans to use ocean energy to create thousands of jobs in the future.
