He took legal action to recover his legal bill for the rape trial
Judgement has been reserved in a case taken by Paddy Jackson to recover the significant legal bill he had to pay for his nine-week rape trial.
Two months ago, the former Ireland and Ulster rugby player was acquitted of raping and sexually assaulting a woman in his Belfast home in 2016.
In Northern Ireland, a person who’s found not guilty of a crime is entitled to apply for their legal costs but it’s up to the court whether to award them.
Judge Patricia Smyth has reserved judgement telling parties her decision won't be made soon because of other work pressures.
