Kingsley Hotel applies for planning for new extension
The Kingsley Hotel has applied for planning permission for a major expansion.
The Evening Echo reports that the four star property has plans to convert existing apartments and the hotel gym into 63 new guestrooms, and redevelop parking garages into a state of the art gym.
Owners Xiu Lan Hotels, who also own the Fota Island Resort say the extension, if granted, will answer some of the demand for hotel beds Leeside.
Tour Operators have raised concerns about the shortage of hotel beds in Cork, particularly during the Guinness Jazz Weekend.
A decision is expected from City Hall planners in May.
