Lack of student accommodation an issue Leeside

As students await their CAO college offers on Monday, the frantic scramble for rental accommodation will begin Leeside.
UCC and CIT are reporting a major lack of accommodation for students ahead of the start of the academic year with up to 10,000 places expected to be offered to students between the two colleges.
The Irish Property Owners Association are warning students to be vigilant when renting accommodation so as not to fall victim to possible scams.
They are appealing to students to make sure their perspective landlord is a member of the IPOA or a licensed letting agent.
Their advice is to ask for their current IPOA Membership Card, utility bill or other form of confirmation of ownership of the property before they pay any deposit.
