"Lapgate" TD admits he had a drink before the incident

The Cork TD at the centre of the Lapgate affair has told the Irish Independent he had a drink before the incident. Tom Barry pulled Aine Collins a TD for Cork North West on to his lap during Wednesday night's abortion debate - in full view of the Dail cameras. The East Cork Deputy will not face further disciplinary measures after apologising for the incident. He told the newspaper he'd been in the Dail bar, but wasn't drinking excessively.
