Large Drop In Number Of Parking Fines Handed To Motorists In Cork In 2018

Figures from City Hall show a total of 29,629 fines were issued last year- a drop of over 6,100 compared to 2017.
The value of the fines decreased over €240,000 to €1.3 million following the introduction of the Patrick Street car ban and free parking incentives in two city centre car parks.
South Mall retains the number one spot for the street where motorists are most likely to be fined with over 2,300 fines issued last year, while Morrison's Quay has gone from 5th place last year to 2nd in 2018
