LE Samuel Beckett involved in two rescue operations in Mediterranean

The LÉ Samuel Beckett has rescued 128 migrants in two separate rescue operations in the Mediterranean.
The first operation took place at 8.30 this morning, where 19 migrants were rescued off the North East coast of Tripoli.
In the second operation, 109 migrants were rescued from a rubber craft.
In both cases the migrants were brought on board the LÉ Samuel Beckett where they received food, water and medical treatment where required.
To date, Irish participation in the humanitarian mission on the Mediterranean has resulted in the rescue of over 12-thousand 5-hundred people.
