Leading Road Safety Campaigner vows to continue work

A leading road safety campaigner says she will continue her work, despite what she describes as insensitive remarks by Kerry TD Danny Healy Rae.

Christina Donnelly accused the Kerry TD of having no feelings for families who have lost people on our roads after he compared the dangers of drink driving to having a big meal.

Christina's son Brendan was killed in a collision with a drunk driver near Castlemartyr in East Cork in 2009 and since then she has campaigned for stronger penalties for those caught drink driving.

Brendan's Law is set to become law before the Summer recess.

Speaking to RedFM News Christina Donnelly says such comments are unhelpful to those who are trying to preserve life on our roads:
