Leo Varadkar's cabinet announcements have been delayed

The announcement has been delayed until around half past seven as rumours continue to abound about its makeup

It's understood that Frances Fitzgerald will be retaining her role as Tanaiste but will be moved to another brief, possibly Varadkar's former role in Social Protection.

Charlie Flanagan will move to Justice, while Simon Coveney will take over at the Department of Foreign Affairs - focusing on issues concerning Brexit and Stormont.

Simon Harris is being retained in the Department of Health, while it's believed Michael Ring is being promoted with a role in rural affairs.

Earlier Leo Varadkar told the Dáil that he would try to live by the same values that he demanded of others, and recalled Brian Cowen's appointment as Taoiseach in 2008.
