Less Than 3% Of All Newly Qualified Gardaí Posted To Cork City Division Since September 2014
That's according to figures from the Department of Justice which reveal that only 62 of 2,400 newly qualified Gardaí were posted to the City.
Cork Fianna Fáil TD Michael McGrath says the figures mean that Gardaí are not able to effectively tackle crime and is calling for the Garda Commissioner and the Minister for Justice to follow up on the issue.
Speaking to RedFM News, Deputy Michael McGrath says an increased Garda presence is vital to preventing crime:
