Lifebuoy theft Leeside can mean a stolen life

One lifebuoy goes missing in Cork everyday at the cost of €50
A stolen ring buoy can mean a stolen life.
That's the message from Irish Water Safety who has condemned the vandalism of lifebuoys Leeside and say it's an "unforgiveable" action.
It's emerged this week that Cork City Council is spending €15,000 every year replacing vandalised ring buoys in the city.
Last month 31 buoys had to be replaced - which is a jump on the average of 25 a month.
Speaking to RedFM News John Leech of Irish Water Safety says the loss of life can result from a missing ring buoy.
