Fire Control Tackle Number Of West Cork Gorse Fires Overnight

Fire Control report a busy night overnight responding to a number of minor gorse fires in West Cork.
It follows a major blaze in the Kealkil area yesterday which required a number of units of the County Fire service to respond in order to bring it under control
The cause of the blaze is unknown but hundreds of acres of forestry were affected and at one point firefighters in Bantry shared a video the blaze as they warned motorists that smoke was reducing visibility in the area.
Meanwhile firefighters from the County Fire Service responded to a road traffic collision near Clonakilty just after 9pm last night
Details of the incident are sketchy but it is known that the crash happened at Currycrowley and firefighters were at the scene for nearly two hours...
