Local Authorities urged to apply for flood relief scheme

Local Authorities in areas affected by flooding are being urged to apply for the OPW's flood relief scheme.
Councils can apply for funding for projects of up to half a million euro.
The scheme is aimed at projects that mitigate and relieve the effects of future flooding.
The OPW has already agreed that the most vulnerable parts of Cork city will have their defences prioritised as part of the overall scheme.
Minister of State for the OPW and Flood Relief Sean Canney, says local authorities can send in their applications as soon as they're ready:
