Locals in Farranree slam recent Irish Business Against Litter Survey

It comes as the area rated poorly in the survey.

Locals in Farranree have hit out at the latest Irish Business Against Litter Survey which has placed their area at the bottom of the litter table.

Sweet papers, cigarette butts and fast food wrappers have been identified as the most common form of litter in the area.

The survey found that while Farranree has improved it still ranks very low on the litter table.

Dennehy's Cross, the North Ring Road, Sun Valley Road, Inniscarra Road  and Patrick's Hill were also singled out as littered.

Sinn Féin Councillor Kenneth Collins told RedFM that there is regular clean ups organised in the Farranree area and he doesn't accept the findings of the litter survey.
