Concerns of road safety, traffic congestion and noise pollution have been raised by locals in the area
A group opposing the planned M28 Cork-Ringaskiddy motorway have threatened to take their challenge to Europe if an alternative route is not found.
The M28 Steering Committee Group say they've held a positive meeting with the Transport Minister and Transport Infrastructure Ireland who have pledged to explore the possibility of locating the motorway elsewhere.
The planned motorway will run from the Jack Lynch Tunnel to Ringaskiddy to cater for plans to expand Ringaskiddy into a major deepwater terminal however concerns in relation to road safety, traffic congestion and noise pollution have been raised by locals in the area.
Speaking to RedFM News Franics Murphy of the M28 Steering Group says they won't back down.
