Long Delays expected at CUH again today

Over 60 patients are receiving treatment on trolley's across three Cork Hospitals again today.

Cork University Hospital is experiencing long delays in it's Emergency Department,and Hospital management have requested patients with minor ailments to contact their GP before presenting at the ED.

Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows the CUH is the most overcrowded in the country.

48 patients are awaiting admission at the CUH, with a further 13 at the Mercy University Hospital and 3 at Bantry General.

The INMO says there are 536 people on trolleys at hospitals around the country - almost 100 more than yesterday.
