Long Delays For Patients Presenting With Minor Ailments At CUH

Management at Cork University Hospital is reminding the public that the emergency department is continuing to experience a very busy period with a high volume of patients presenting for review.
The hospital is requested that the public contact their GP before presenting at the ED as in the past week over 1300 patients have attended the department for treatment leading to long delays
CUH has not cancelled any surgical procedures but the hospital Executive Team are continuing to minor the situation closely
Hospital management say they are doing everything possible to minimise the delays but they are requesting that, where appropriate, the public explore all options before attending the A&E unit.
