Lord Mayor says he's received no negative feedback on rates hike

Over half of Cork traders are set to receive a rebate of 3% on their commercial rates this year.
It follows the recent decision by City Council to hike rates by 1.25%.
The local authority says businesses who pay less than €4,000 in the city, account for more than 50% of all traders and they will all be eligible for a 3% rebate.
The move has been criticised by some traders, particularly those on North Main Street, where a number of shops including Dunnes Stores have shut their doors in recent months due to decreasing footfall and the need for re-juvenation.
Other budgetary measures that were criticised include funding cuts to festivals like Pulses of Tradition and Glow however Lord Mayor Cllr Des Cahill says some traders have welcomed the change in the way the festivals will be run next year.
He also told RedFM News that he hasn't received any negative feedback and City Council are doing their best to support local traders:
