The Lord Mayor of the City says it has been privilege to serve in the role.
Cllr John Sheehan will hand over the historic mayoral chains later this evening when a new Lord Mayor is elected.
The Blackpool GP returned to work when the Covid-19 crisis struck and intends to begin working again immediately.
Speaking to RedFM News Lord Mayor Cllr John Sheehan says he had a huge appreciation for the people of Cork, especially in light of their response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
