The M20 motorway could be fully completed by 2026

That's according to a Limerick senator who says the ambitious timeframe for the 80km Cork Limerick Motorway is possible following the announcement that the first phase of work on the project has received €8 million funding.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland announced that the tendering process for the planning and design phase has begun, ending years of uncertainty surrounding the project.

Supporters of the motorway say reducing journey times between Cork and Limerick will make the region more attractive to foreign investers and provide a boost to tourism

Speaking to RedFM News, Senator Kieran O'Donnell says he's confident swift progress will be made
