MABS advises to avoid debt this Christmas by planning ahead
MABS says people take out short-term loans every year without a payment plan in place
The Money Advice and Budgeting Service are advising people to prioritise this Christmas in a bid to avoid unnecessary debt.
The Cork branch of MABS says every year people are taking out short-term loans with no plan in place to pay back what they owe.
They have also advised people to be aware of the interest rates being charged by legal money lenders and research to find the most affordable loan.
Speaking to RedFM News Margaret O'Neill of MABS says short-term loans can be avoided if people plan ahead:
