Mahon Based Children's Autism Club Seeks Help Locating New Premises

The Rainbow Club need more space to cope with the demand on their service
A Mahon based austim club for children say they urgently need a bigger premises to cope with the demand being placed on their services
Cork City Council has agreed to examine and assist with the request by the Rainbow Club to find a bigger building, ideally near their current base, in order to expand their service and accommodate the children on their waiting list.
The Rainbow Club caters for 237 children ranging in age from 18 months to 17 years and currently has a waiting list of more than 130 parents
The club had suggested leasing the vacant ABODE building in Mahon but the Council says that building is unsuitable and there are no Council properties available in Mahon.
Speaking to RedFM News Karen O'Mahony Co-Founder of the Rainbow Club says it's important for the children who use their service that they try and remain in the area
