Major Jobs Boost For The City
Irish Water is understood to be creating 400 positions at the call centre Abtran in the city this morning. Irish Water has been set up within Bord Gais to run the country's water system from local councils. It was reported last Friday that the company had recruited Abtran to run the new call centre creating 400 jobs as a result. Environment Minister Phil Hogan is coming to the city this morning and he's expected to confirm these positions. Abtran has offices on the Curraheen Road and the Model Farm Road. All of the new posts are expected to be filled by 2016 - with the first 100 people hired before July this year.
