Man (33) jailed for two years after pleading guilty to possessing almost €70,000 worth of heroin last year

Gary Coleman of Cove Street in Cork was arrested when Gardaí stopped a taxi travelling towards Cork on the motorway at Gortore, Kilworth on the 26th of March, 2020

Gardaí became suspicious when Coleman said he had been socialising in Temple Bar in Dublin, despite the entire country being locked down at the time.

Cork Circuit Criminal Court heard Coleman was co-operative about his involvement but did not know the others involved or was afraid to give any information.

Judge Olann Kelleher sentenced him to four years in prison but suspended the final two years.
