Man (40s) due in court this morning following burglary and assault in the city yesterday
Gardaí from Togher responded to reports of a break-in on the Model Farm Road just after 6am.
A struggle ensued during the incident and a man slammed a door shut on a woman's hand before fleeing the scene.
A description of the man was circulated and a man was arrested around half an hour later on Wilton Road following a short foot chase.
He'll will appear in court in the city this morning at 10:30.
