Man Arrested In Relation To Hit And Run Which Left Toddler In A Serious Condition Released

Detectives arrested the 17 year old in Mahon yesterday afternoon and brought him to the Bridewell Garda station for questioning.
Two and half year old Zac Higgins suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a blue Mazda 6 which failed to stop after he ran onto the road at Castle Meadows off the Skehard road just before 4pm on Monday.
Zac was rushed to Cork University Hospital and later transferred to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
A file is being prepared for the DPP.
