Man Charged In Connection With Armed Rampage In Dublin To Receive Psychiatric Treatment

A man is to receive psychiatric treatment while in custody after being charged in connection with Monday’s eight hour armed rampage in South West Dublin.

37 year old Joseph Rafferty of Russell Place, Russell Square in Tallaght has been charged with six offences.

They include the hijacking of a Mercedes, the robbery of a Subaru Impreza from a car dealership and the possession of a sub-machine gun.

He’s been remanded in custody and is due back in court next week.
