Man convicted following shooting in Cork earlier this year

A 30-year-old man has been convicted on all four counts relating to the shooting of Cork woman Ciara Sheehan.

Gavin Sheehan fired a shot at a house in the Hollywood Estate in Hollyhill last May, which hit the young woman in the neck.

He was convicted of recklessly discharging a firearm, and with seriously injuring Ciara Sheehan.

He was also convicted of possession of a Smith and Wesson semi automatic firearm, and with possession of a single round of 9mm ammunition.

He is due to be sentenced next February.
