Man arrested after a garda chase in the city this evening
A number of garda cars were involved in the pursuit of a vehicle that was seen driving dangerously shortly before 5pm this evening.
A Garda car was rammed during the chase.
In a statement issued to RedFM News gardaí say they attended the scene of an incident of dangerous driving that occurred this afternoon.
At approximately 4p.m. Gardaí observed a vehicle engage in dangerous driving and attempted to stop the vehicle. A managed containment operation was undertaken by Gardaí.
The suspect vehicle eventually came to a stop at a Fanacht checkpoint after it collided with a Garda vehicle.
No persons were injured.
The driver was arrested on Commons Road and taken to Gurranbraher Garda station where he is currently being detained.
Investigations are ongoing.
