Man Killed In East Cork Crash Named

The man who was killed in a car crash in East Cork yesterday has been named locally. 82 year old John O'Driscoll from Innygreega, Midleton, died after he drove the wrong way down a motorway before colliding head on with another car. Gardaí are trying to establish how far the man drove on the wrong carriageway before his red Seat Ibiza hit a Subaru Impreza driven by a man in his 20s. The 82 year old was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to Cork University Hospital where an autopsy will be carried out. Meanwhile, the driver of the Subaru, a man in his 20's, was taken to CUH with non life threatening leg and chest injuries.
