Man Prounounced Dead At Scene of Trench Collapse in Cork

The body of a man in his 30's was recovered on a farm site following a trench collapse in Coachford this afternoon.
The man was working on a deep excavation on the farm around 10am this morning, when the sides of the trench collapsed trapping him underneath.
Emergency services recovered the man's body at 4pm where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem is due to take place this evening.
Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority are conducting separate investigations into the incident.
