March For Homelessness Gets Underway In City Today

It'll be led by the Leeside Apartment Residents
A march is getting underway in the city this afternoon amid growing concern over the homeless crisis.
Residents of the Leeside Apartments - who fought a long campaign to prevent their eviction after they were served with a 'notice to quit' by their landlord who claimed they needed to vacate the property for refurbishment works- will lead out the march.
Hundreds are expected to turn out for the demonstration highlighting some of the ongoing issues in the housing sector including record high rents, over 10,000 people now classified as homeless and growing numbers on the social housing waiting list.
Speaking to RedFM News Barry Murphy, president of the Cork Council of Trade Unions, says it's time to action on what he says is a mess created by government:
