Martin O'Neill backs Roy Keane
Republic of Ireland Manager Martin O'Neill has issued a statement in the past few minutes on an incident involving a member of the public and Roy Keane. The fan is believed to have thrown a book at the 43-year-old, at a hotel in Dublin where the Republic of Ireland squad are staying. Roy defended himself by raising his arms, the fan then fell over and required medical attention. It's understood no complaints have been lodged with the Gardaí by either party involved however they are investigating the incident. Gardaí are investigating the matter after they were called to the scene by Roy Keane and at this stage it's understood that Roy Keane's version of events match that of the CCTV from the hotel.
