Masterplan To Be Developed for St. Kevins Building Following Blaze

Work is underway to develop a masterplan for one of Cork's most iconic buildings which was partially gutted in a blaze last week.
The Irish Examiner reports that the action plan will include representatives of site owners and the HSE.
A garda investigation is underway after St Kevin's Asylum on the site of the former Our Lady’s Mental Hospital caught fire last Tuesday evening.
Cork County Mayor Declan Hurley confirmed to RedFM News that he will be tasking the local authority with a review of all derelict buildings in the county in the wake of the fire.
Meanwhile the Irish Georgian Society says it'll be backing research into the importance of and threats to the city’s architectural heritage following the fire and other recent blazes in historic buildings such as Vernon Mount and Fortwilliam House.
