Mayor Of County Has Joined Online Memorial To Mark 36th Anniversary Of Air India Disaster

Cllr Mary Linehan-Foley took part in the commemoration to mark the terror attack which happened on this day in 1985
329 people died when a Boeing 747 exploded off the coast of West Cork.
A commemoration usualy takes place at a memorial garden in Ahakista, however this year's event has been broadcast online due to the pandemic.
Mayor of the County, Cllr Mary Linehan-Foley says the people of Cork and families of the victims understand the importance of international solidarity:
"The message of our commemoration today, has a renewed importance. You are not alone. And as we continue to support one another through our current struggle. We look forwards in hope to a day where we can come together again to honour the lives lost and their loved ones, and the friendships that were made in that dark time. And that have endured over the three decades."
