Media Companies Back HMV Rescue
Major media companies have pledged their support to any buyer willing to rescue HMV. It comes after staff ended their sit-in in Cork over the weekend after it was confirmed that they would be paid by the end of this week. Efforts to save the company’s retail network in Ireland and Britain have been ongoing. Last week, it was confirmed that the Game group was interested in acquiring some of HMV’s stores. It's also reported that international music and film labels including Universal Music, Warner Music and Sony will offer incentives to any company that takes over the shops.
