Mental Health Services in Cork have suffered serious consequences due to the overrun of the National Children's Hospital
That's according to Kathleen Lynch former Mental Health Minister for Cork City's Northside who says the improvement of mental health facilities Leeside has slipped off the agenda
The cost of the new national children’s hospital was originally at an estimated €800 million in 2014 but rose to €983 million in 2017, and now stands at €1.43 billion.
- a cost that doesn't factor in accommodation for families, a research centre or any other changes to clinical standards.
Speaking to RedFM News, Mental Health spokesperson Kathleen Lynch says health services in Cork will receive little or no funding in the near future because of the overrun of the Children's Hospital:
