The forecaster has warned of possible flooding and debris on the roads.

The storm is currently 400 kilometres off the West coast and is due to hit Ireland in a weakened form according to the forecaster who have downgraded the warning for Cork to a status yellow wind warning which is in place until 6am tomorrow.

Gardaí are advising motorists to reduce their speed due to reduced visibility and excess surface water while the Coastguard are urging people to stay away from coastal areas.

ESB Networks say some customers may experience power outages due to the storm and are warning people to stay clear of fallen power lines.
