Met Eireann Says Severe Gusts Are On The Way

It's as Storm Dennis passes over Ireland

A status orange wind warning is in place for Cork and 8 other western counties with a status yellow alert for the rest of the country.

Cork County Council response crews are on standby, and are advising all people Leeside to stay of coastal areas, and for drivers to be aware of fallen branches in cables. 

Met Eireann are also advising motorists to take extra care on the roads today, with the Coast Guard's appealing for people to stay away from beaches, cliffs and piers.

No flights departing Cork airport have been affected by the Storm as of yet.

However 2 flights due to arrive at Cork from London Heathrow at 3.20 this afternoon have been cancelled.

Fota Wildlife Park will remain closed today due to the wind warning.
