Miah Takes His Final Bow As Michael Twomey Passes Away

Tributes have been paid to Cork theatrical legend Michael Twomey who died today.

He was best known as one half of the comedy duo of Cha and Miah, but was an accomplished writer, actor, director and adjudicator of amateur dramatics as well as being on the board of Cork's Everyman Theatre.

Cha played by Frank Duggan, and Mia played by Michael were given the freedom of the city in 2013 in honour of their lifetime contributions to professional and amateur theatre.

He began his acting career at an early age when his mum sent him to elocution lessons at the age of 9, and he never looked back since.

Speaking to RedFM news Artistic Director with The Everyman Palace Theatre Julie Kellehar says his contribution to theatre in Cork was immeasurable:
