Michael D. Higgins delivers Christmas Message
President Michael D. Higgins has addressed people's concerns about the future in his annual Christmas message.
The President acknowledged that there is uncertainty here and across the European Union, where he said life has been a struggle at an economic and social level.
He also addressed the humanitarian situation of millions of vulnerable people throughout the world, saying that this is still awaiting an adequate global response.
As we face into a new year, the President Higgins urged solidarity, describing it as the heartbeat of our society.
