Michael Fassbender up for a BAFTA

Michael Fassbender is up for a BAFTA for his role in "12 Years a Slave" The Killarney native is nominated alongside Bradley Cooper and Matt Damon. Gravity has secured the most nominations - it's up for 11 awards. There were 10 nods each for 12 Years A Slave and American Hustle. Meanwhile, the Stephen Frears movie about the life of Limerick woman Philomena Lee is nominated in the Best Film category.
